Network Planning Manager 



Based in Budapest 

 

 

Purpose of the position:

 

The role’s responsibility is to manage capacity and frequencies of Wizz Air’s existing route network, proactively capturing trends in demand, competition, cost and market-specific events. The Network Planning Manager has responsibility to lead seasonal frequency planning at his/her assigned markets and shall create various analyses and business recommendations to management. The candidate needs to also deliver monthly capacity plan updates to stakeholder departments, thereby contributing to an efficient business planning cycle.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Maximize profitability of the network by optimizing capacity, weekly frequencies and schedule, ensuring the right product is offered to the customers
  • Managing capacity on a portfolio of routes comprising several countries and bases
  • Deliver monthly capacity plan updates to stakeholders and management
  • Building and maintaining financial evaluation tools as required
  • Work closely together with Revenue Forecasting, Revenue Management, Scheduling, Controlling and Airport Development teams to ensure cross-functional alignment of network decisions.
  • Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths / weaknesses and recommending actions based on the risks and opportunities
  • Assessing and interpreting market, economic and industry trends and the impact on route choice
  • Managing the airport cost mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs
  • To be successful in the role the manager needs to continuously work on improvements and developments in the current tools and processes of the Network area, therefore an innovative and process-driven mindset is essential.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Completed university or college degree is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Business mindset and ability to synthesize information into recommendations
  • Good oral and written presentations skills
  • Team work and strong interpersonal skills
  • Fluent spoken / written English
  • Ability to work in team and independently
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Ability to live and work in Budapest, Hungary (relevant permit can be obtained for successful applicants)
  • Limited travel required
